Small Business of the Year finalists!
Thursday, April 12th, 2012Introducing ‘If the dress still fits!’
Tuesday, September 6th, 2011You may remember back in April we ran a fabulous competition in conjunction with Lifehouse Spa for one lucky husband and wife to help launch our fantastic new post wedding photo shoot package ‘If the dress still fits!’ This package is a post wedding photo shoot tailored to your own special requirements. If you would love the chance to be photographed in that gorgeous wedding dress one more time and hubbie still scrubs up alright (!), then this is the shoot for you. The shoot itself is free from any time constraints and is a unique and truly special gift for the one you love.
Our competition asked married couples to tell us why they would love to be photographed in their wedding attire once more. The prize included a free photo shoot with Rob in the beautiful Lifehouse grounds after spending a glorious day being pampered at Lifehouse Spa including lunch plus make up and hair makeover, what more could a girl ask for! As you can imagine we received so many entries with so many stories/reasons for wanting the opportunity to slip back into that gorgeous wedding dress!
Here are just some of the reasons couples gave for wanting to relive their special day and get all dressed up again!
1.Couldn’t afford a photographer to attend their wedding.
2.Weren’t lucky enough to have a great venue on their special day.
3.Nerves got the better of them.
4.Would have loved to have had more time being photographed on the actual day.
5.The weather let them down.
……..and the list goes on!
Also there were couples that simply had had such a brilliant wedding day and wanted to do it all over again or their wedding anniversary was approaching and thought this would be a fantastic experience and a great way to celebrate their anniversary.
So, onto our wonderful competition winners, Amanda and Graeme. They have been happily married since December 2006 and have two beautiful children. This is their story and we don’t think there could have been more worthy winners!
Enjoy their story and enjoy their photos.
p.s. If you would like details of our fantastic new package for whatever your reason is, call Wendy on 01206 766323 or email wendy@robsambrookphotography.com for our full price list and package details…..if the dress still fits, of course!!!!
‘My husband, Graeme and I were married in December 2006. We had a wonderful day and still have lots of happy memories of the day. Unfortunately we did not have a professional photographer and so didn’t really get many good photos.
We were originally planning our wedding for July 2006, it was all booked and a photographer had been decided on, but at the end of 2005 I found I was pregnant. We decided to cancel the wedding until the baby had arrived. Unfortunately in June 2006 our baby was stillborn after complications in pregnancy. This was obviously a very difficult and sad time for us. We then decided to book the wedding again and do it before the end of the year so that 2006 would hold some happy memories for us as well as a lot of sad ones. The photographer we wanted was by then booked up, and at the time we were still a little fragile and decided we did not want to have extra focus on us so we relied on family and friends to take photos.
Typically (for Lancashire in December!) it rained all day on the big day, so we didn’t get any photos taken outdoors at all. The ones that were taken inside the venue and church weren’t of the best quality and so it didn’t really work out as we had hoped. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but we didn’t really understand at the time how we would have liked to relive the day through photographs after the event.
We now have 2 beautiful children and life is good. We do not have any wedding photos on display at all, in fact most of them have never been printed and remain on the computer hard drive! Although it was a wonderful day, the lack of photographic memories is the only thing we have regrets about. If we were to win the shoot, although it wouldn’t be the same as having them on the day, it would be great to get a bit of that special time back for us, and who knows, maybe we would be more relaxed than we were on the day!’
